MIT Green Building (Building 54, Room 100) 21 Ames Street Cambridge, MA 02139

In celebration of one of the newest additions to MIT’s Public Art Collection, Julian Charrière participates in an artist talk, exploring his site-specific work that serves as the new lobby and grand entryway to the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences, the Environmental Solutions Initiative, and the MIT-Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute Joint Program.

Feb 2nd – Mar 3rd, 2024
99 Canal, New York

Curated by Marco Bene, Animal Farm entices the observer on a visual odyssey exalted by pastoral solace, animist minstrelsy and metaphysical riddles – ghosts, ghouls and goblins – offering fleeting glimpses of an alterity existing between techne and poiesis, the human and the non-human, the nocturnal and the diurnal. Through over a dozen new 16 mm film projections we are invited to explore the latest toils in a long-lasting inquiry into analogue means and analogue concepts. A journey towards an eco-friendly estrangement from the extractivist rural landscape.

New Commission for Frankfurt Terminal 3

Fraport Ausbau Süd GmbH has commissioned Julius von Bismarck to produce a site-specific art installation for Frankfurt's new check-in hall at Terminal 3, planned for completion in 2025. "Airports are very special places of connection and cultural encounters, despite their often functional and commercial appearance. The challenge of developing art for such a place has always appealed to me. They are places of connection where travelers are in a special state of mind. They have to get involved in a new environment, accept a different culture and different norms," says von Bismarck.

Dec 1st, 2023 – Jan 6th, 2024
Warehouse 50, Alserkal Avenue, Dubai

“Melting Point” creates a kaleidoscopic vision of the glaciers, showing them at a critical point in time. The exhibition transports the viewer into a frozen world, where towering glaciers emerge from a polar darkness and the visitor soars over bright Arctic vistas. A collaboration between Alserkal Initiatives, Art of Change 21, and Studio Julian Charrière, the exhibition is part of Art of Change’s “Art at COP28'' programming.
