LA><ART is pleased to announce a public art initiative billboard with New York-based artist Talia Chetrit. Pulling from an archive of contact sheets from film the artist shot as a thirteen year old in the mid-1990s, the billboard features a re-cropped image of a member of Chetrit’s family. Her public billboard will be up on view through March 9th, 2014 facing north on La Cienega Boulevard between Venice and Washington Boulevards.
Talia Chetrit lives and works in New York City. She received her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2008 and previously earned her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Chetrit’s recent exhibitions include group and solo shows held at SculptureCenter, New York; Leslie Fritz, New York; Sies + Höke, Düsseldorf; Marian Goodman and the Palais de Tokyo, both in Paris, and the Photographic Resource Center in Boston.
