Following the highly acclaimed installations by FAILE, JR, and Dustin Yellin, New York City Ballet welcomes Winnipeg native and Brooklyn based interdisciplinary artist Marcel Dzama for the 2016 Art Series.

Dzama will exhibit Art Series’ first ever digital installation this winter on the theater’s Promenade, complete with a chess match dance off and an incognito appearance by Amy Sedaris.

The Art Series installation will be on view at three special New York City Ballet Art Series performances on February 6 Eve, 11, and 19 where all tickets are priced at $30, and each audience member will receive a limited edition commemorative takeaway from the artist.

In addition, Dzama is also part of the creative team for The Most Incredible Thing, NYCB Resident Choreographer Justin Peck’s world premiere ballet, which will be performed as part of each Art Series program. Dzama’s costume and set designs are joined by Peck’s choreography and original music by Bryce Dessner of The National, bringing Hans Christian Anderson’s dark fairytale of the same name to the stage.
