Different Strokes

The exhibition Different Strokes focuses on ten positions of processual abstract painting and explores the question of what possibilities of material development and shape formation gestural painting can produce as a traditional strategy of abstract action in contemporary art. Reminiscences of informal painting and abstract expressionism of the post-war period are no coincidence. Although they are not directly cited or consciously examined for possibilities of actualization, they are an indispensable precondition, an informality stored in the collective artistic DNA, which seems to come to the surface again, especially in the painting of the present.
