Fox & Coyote, 2024 - 2025
2 texts, framed, 1000 C-prints dispersed across town
58 x 90 cm / 25 x 20 cm
At Sophiensäle, two mirroring texts describe two encounters – of a coyote in Death Valley (California) and a fox in Berlin (Germany).
For the duration of the 13th Berlin Biennale, two framed text works are installed in the exhibition space of Sophiensäle. Concurrently, 1,000 unique C-prints are dispersed across Berlin — placed on walls, shelves, or inside drawers; left in shops, restaurants, and on the streets; inserted into books and magazines in libraries and bookshops. Some are gifted to friends or passersby.
The 13th Berlin Biennale is curated by Zasha Colah with Valentina Viviani 14 June to 14 September 2025
Every morning, a coyote roams its territory in Death Valley, California, tracing a large circle. Around the same time, a fox emerges from its shelter in Berlin and embarks on a similar route through the darkened city streets after sunset.
