The artist duo FORT transfers everyday objects into the context of contemporary art. Through subtle interven tions, Jenny Kropp and Alberta Niemann alienate the supposedly familiar, allowing it to tip over into the un familiar. They negotiate aspects of the hidden and the absent in their largescale works, some of which were created especially for this exhibition. This is the first time that an exhibition at the Kunsthalle has been specifically dedicated to scholarship holders of the Cultural Founda tion of Hesse that supported FORT with a studio grant in New York City.
