An old heater on the wall. A package with decorative snow on top. FORT brings together things that do not seem to belong together at first glance. And yet this grotesquely humorous combination of snow and heater gives rise to numerous associations which lead straight to the heart of social sensitivities: The safety of a warm home. The worry of no longer being able to afford the energy costs. The desire for a white Christmas. The in- creasingly rare frosty days. Einsame Winter (en. “Lonely Winters“) is thus a subtle sculpture between an arrangement of banal objects and sociocritical analysis.

FORT consists of Alberta Niemann and Jenny Kropp. Since 2008 they create installations, performances and video installations (until 2013 with Anna Jandt).
