Children's driving machine, mirror
125 x 105 x 64 cm

A friendly, yellow and black bee swings tirelessly back and forth. However, the outdated children‘s ride-on vehicle keeps banging against the wall. With each impact, the head hits a cracked mirror, which fragments and distorts the bee‘s reflection. An object of entertaining joy thus becomes an expression of restlessness and failure. This is because Summ summ, bumm bumm combines both: permanent movement and oppressive standstill. The supposed fun becomes a symbol of melancholic sadness, reflecting the absurd constraints of everyday life.
