With Broken Hearts Club, FORT has created a work that carries lightness and melancholy equally. The floating hearts can symbolize the euphoria and hope that go hand in hand with love. The gradually sinking balloons are also a reminder of the fragility and transience of these feelings. The installation plays with exuberant kitsch, social conventions and expectations. In its quiet drama and poetic staging, Broken Hearts Club is thus also a mirror for the emotional depth and ambivalence of human relationships.
